Significant Color Of Object

Unique Tag: [ significantColorOfObject ]

The formula (Significant Color Of Object OBJCOL) means that the tangible thing OBJ has a significant amount of the color COL. The color may be signinficant because it covers over some minimum percent of the surface area of OBJ (as yet undecided) or because it is symbolically important. For example, the flag of SouthAfrica is Green, Red, Blue, Black, White, and Yellow. Each of these colors is a Significant Color Of Object of such a flag, even though the yellow covers less than 5% of the flag's surface. If one refers to an object as being a set of colors, each color is related to the object viaSignificant Color Of Object. The more specialized predicate, Main Color Of Object should be used if the object could be referred to as being that color without mentioning any other color. If we had a shirt that was green with a small, white insignia on the pocket, we WOULD, in this case, say that the Main Color Of Object, this shirt, is green. The white would not be a Significant Color Of Object. See also Object Has Color and Uniform Color Of Object.
