A binary relative locational predicate that relates a (tangible or intangible) spatial thing to an intrinsic axis (if it has any). By an intrinsic here we mean an axis an object has either purely in virtue of its geometric shape or in virtue of some natural or conventional feature it has regarding its directional orientation. More precisely, (Object Axes OBJECT AXIS) means that either (i) AXIS is an axis of symmetry of OBJECT (see the specialization Symmetric Axes) or (ii) OBJECT is an bilateral object (q.v.) and AXIS passes through the centers (see centroid) of two if its opposing sides (see the specialization Bilateral Axes).
