A collection of collections and a specialization of type of person classified by activity (q.v.). Each instance of type of profession is a collection of workers (see worker) and is defined in terms of the kind of work done. The various instances of type of profession correspond to jobs of all kinds, and not just to those colloquially called professions . Examples include computer programmer, food service employee, medical care professional, sales representative, brewer, and many others. See also type of position.
