This is the collection of types of action which typically can have an intimidating effect upon normal people in ordinary circumstances. So, for instance, threatening is an instance, but kiss is not. While some instances of the latter may be intimidating (for example, a 'kiss of death' from a mafioso), kissing is not a standard way of intimidating.
