Generation of an information bearing thing

Unique Tag: [ IBTGeneration ]

Aliases: [ Express, Expressed, Expresses, Expressing, Generation of an IBT, Generations of an IBT, Generations of an Information Bearing Thing, Had expressed, Has expressed, Have expressed, IBT generation, Will express, Will have expressed ]
A specialization of information transfer and of action. Each instance of generation of an information bearing thing is an event which creates some information-bearing thing. The information-bearing thing created may be either a transient wave phenomenon (e.g. sound, light, or radio waves), or it may be a relatively long-lasting instance of information-bearing object (cf. the important specialization of IBTGeneration -- creation of an information-bearing object). Humans frequently generate such IBTs as spoken language, gestures, and handwritten notes. It is irrelevant for instances of generation of an information bearing thing whether there is another agent who accesses the resulting IBT. Note that every communication act starts with an instance of generation of an information bearing thing. (Thus, see also communication and its specializations, especially single communication act.) For an analogous collection regarding instances of conceptual work, see creation of a conceptual work. Two important specializations of this collection are generation of an original information bearing thing and event in which an Information Bearing Thing is replicated. See also the predicate Ibt Generated.
