A specialization of both round thing and three dimensional shape (qq.v.). Each instance of ellipsoid is a (tangible or intangible) three-dimensional object whose boundary is or approximates an ellipsoid (q.v.)

Examples of ellipsoidal solids include tangible objects such as jelly beans, as well as intangible SpaceRegions.
