A specialization of tame animal. Each instance of domesticated animal is an animal that has been bred and trained in such a way that it cannot readily survive in the wild. Domesticated animals are kept by humans for labor, transportation, food, or as pets, and their relations with humans are more or less cooperative. domesticated animal does _not_ include most wild animals kept in zoos (see captive).
