A collection of collections. Each dog breed and variety
is a collection of Dogs according to some breed and some shared,
distinguishing physical characteristic (see physical variety). Common points of variation include coat type, coat color, and size. Many instances of
breed are standardly recognized as having distinct
varieties, such as the (Miniature Sized Variety Fndachshund). Note, however, that the classification of a dog type as a breed, physical variety, or dog breed and variety can be a matter of disagreement. Related assertions should therefore be made in a lower microtheory, such as one specific to an organization with dog standards as a primary concern.
