A specialization of element. Each instance of alkali metal is a type of stuff composed entirely of one element and is a soft metallic element. They comprised the leftmost column of metals in the the periodic table and possess many similarities. They have high thermal and electrical conductivities. For each row of the periodic table, the alkali metal has the lowest first ionization energy, which means they are highly reactive.
